Money

Deposits held

See how much security deposit money you're holding for your tenants.

A deposit isn't your money: you're holding it for the tenant. This report shows how much you'd owe back. Open Reports and click Deposits Held.

What you see

Portfolio Deposit Liability shows Total Deposits Held. Deposits by Property lists each property and lease with the tenant, unit, Deposit agreed, amount Received, amount Returned and the Balance Held.

A deposit only appears here once you've recorded on the lease that you received it. If you see "No deposits recorded yet", that's the place to start. The returned amounts update as you settle deposits at the end of each tenancy. See Return the deposit.

Deposits are deliberately kept out of your income statement.

Use Export CSV or Export PDF to keep a copy.
