Roles and permissions

Who can do what in your workspace, and where each role sees settings.

Everyone has an account type, and inside each workspace they also have a workspace role. Once you know the difference, it's easier to decide who to invite and as what.

Workspace roles

You choose these on the Team page:

  • Owner: responsible for the workspace. The owner is the only one who sees every page in Settings (General, Team, Numbering, Notifications, Amenities, Inspections, Integrations and Billing) and the only one who can manage the team.
  • Manager: runs the day-to-day work with you.
  • Member: the usual pick for a helper like a bookkeeper or leasing agent.

Managers and members only see General and Inspections in Settings. The team, numbering, notifications, amenities, integrations and billing stay with the owner.

Account types

Your account type is shown on your profile under Role:

  • Property owner and Property manager accounts can run a workspace.
  • Tenant accounts only see the tenant portal. However you set up your team, tenants never see anything in your workspace.

You can't change your own account type. To change someone's, contact support.

Workspaces and units

An account can own one workspace and join others by invitation. The free plan covers up to 3 active units. Go over that and your records stay exactly where they are, but you'll need to upgrade to add another unit.

Quiet mode

Pause automatic tenant email while you enter old records, so nobody gets a flood of messages.

Passkeys and sign-in security

Change your password, add a passkey, link a social account and sign out other devices.
