The lease agreement
What your tenants sign, and how to use an agreement you already filled in.
Your tenants sign a real agreement built from the lease you entered. For a property in BC, that's the official standard form.
BC: the standard form
For a BC property, the agreement is the standard BC tenancy agreement (RTB-1), filled in from your lease: the parties, address, term, rent, deposits and what's included.
The form only has room for two tenants, so any others go on an attached list with an extra signature page. After the form come the addendum pages: your saved addendum, the terms for this lease only, the pets and smoking policy, any extra inclusions and the device list. Everyone signs in the form's own signature blocks.
Open it from the lease page with View lease PDF or Download PDF.
Outside BC, OneRental builds its own agreement from the lease and your addendum.
Already have a filled-in agreement?
Upload it and it becomes the agreement, exactly as it is. This is also a handy way to bring in a tenancy that started before you used OneRental.
Save the lease (a draft is fine) and open the lease page.
In Agreement document, click Upload a filled agreement (PDF) and choose the file. It can be up to 10 MB.
We don't add anything to an uploaded agreement, and your addendum isn't used. You can replace or remove the file until a signing request exists. Once a lease is signed in OneRental, it keeps its signed copy.
