Owners and the landlord

Record who owns your properties and who is named as the landlord.

Move-in and move-out inspection reports name a landlord and give an address where they can receive notices. Set it up once and every property uses it.

Your own entry

Your workspace has its own entry for the properties you manage yourself. Fill in your name and address before you schedule an inspection. If they're missing, scheduling sends you back here.

Add an owner you manage for

Open Properties and click Owners. You can also add an owner while you're adding a property.

Enter the name, say whether it's a person or a company, and add an address and, if you have one, an email.

One owner can have as many properties as you like.

Choose the landlord for a property

Open a property and look at Landlord of record.

  • Managed by the owner: your own entry is the landlord.
  • Managed by a company for the owner: pick the owner and record who agreed and when.

A change takes effect from the date you choose, and the earlier arrangement stays in the history.

Changing or removing an owner

Editing an owner affects inspections you schedule from then on. Reports that are already scheduled keep the landlord they had.

You can't remove an owner while a property still uses them. Switch those properties to someone else first.

List a unit for rent

Put a vacant unit in front of renters, add photos and close the listing when it's rented.
