Remove a tenant's data

Delete a tenant and their records when you're allowed to and need to.

If you added someone by mistake, or you're no longer required to keep their data, you can delete a tenant. Think twice first, though: it's permanent.

Open the tenant's page.

Click the trash icon, Delete tenant.

Read the warning (all their records go, and it can't be undone), then click Delete.

You can't delete a tenant with an active lease. End the tenancy first. See Ending a tenancy.

Before you delete

Deleting isn't a way to tidy up old tenants. If someone's just moved out, set their status to Former tenant and keep the history. If you only want them out of the portal, revoke their access instead and nothing is lost. See Invite a tenant to the portal.

It's also worth checking how long your province expects you to keep tenancy records.
